Easter Ringing
The ringing in the run up to and over Easter is as follows:
Sunday 29 March (Palm Sunday) - 9.45 for 10.30am Service (Please note earlier start and finish times)
Tuesday 31 March – No ringing in Holy Week
Sunday 5 April (Easter Sunday) – 10am for 10.45am Service ( Please note there is no early ringing this year as the 8am Service has been cancelled this year)
Tuesday 7 April – Normal Practice
Congratulations to three of our youngsters who took part in the Essex Young Eagles team in the Ringing World National Youth Contest in Oxford on Saturday 11th July. The band came equal 10th out of sixteen teams ringing rounds and call changes.
Wow. What a great result for Writtle! Third place in the Essex Association Striking Competition finals held at Barking.
1st Kirby-le-Soken - 93%
2nd Chelmsford - 92%
3rd Writtle - 91%
Fourteen more names have been added to the Roll of Honour up to the end of 1916. It is our intention that a quarter peal will be rung on or around the date of their death to mark the ultimate sacrifice made by these local men.
