Christmas and New Year Ringing
In addition to the normal Practice and Service ringing in the Coming Up section on the right, additional ringing at Christmas and New Year will be as follows:
Christmas Eve
Quarter Peal attempt at 4pm for the Blessing the Crib Service
Ringing from 10.45pm for the 11.30pm Midnight Communion Service
Christmas Day
Ringing from 7.30am for the 8am Service
Ringing from 9.15am for the 10am Service
New Year's Eve
Ringing from 11.15pm (half muffled) to 11.50pm and then open ringing from midnight til late (or early!)
VISITING RINGERS WELCOME
Very good peal rung on Saturday 2nd August for the centenary of the start of the Great War
First names added to the Roll of Honour up to the end of 1914. We intend to ring quarter peals on a monthly basis to mark the ultimate sacrifice made by these local men
What a successful day! 90 people made their way up the Tower and onto the roof at the Writtle Village Country Fair.
The Essex Young Eagles, consisting of five Writtle youngsters came second in the call change section of the Ringing World National Youth Contest at Worcester on Saturday 5th July. Very well done to them and a massive thanks to all the parents and supporters who went to Worcester.
Writtle came eighth in the Essex Association 6-bell finals at Nazeing on 5th July.
